Small Groups

Small GroupsSmall Group Ministry seeks to establish groups where people can build healthy relationships and engage in discussions where God and the bible connect with people and life's situations.

Better Together!

God is moving in amazing ways in Oxford Baptist Church and in the community and region surrounding us. At times we feel we can't make a difference as individuals, but together with others in a 'Small Group' we can! That's the awesome power of community.

Small Groups

Discovering the purpose for which God placed us on Earth does not just happen! Nor do the Bible teachings automatically become part of our lifestyle or community. Learning and growing, serving and loving, worshipping and giving, and prayer, are all part of the Small Group dynamic which creates an environment in which all these aspects have the opportunity to flourish and we can truly experience biblical community.

Because of the many gifts and talents given to us and the creativity of the Holy Spirit, we see an amazing variety and diversity of Small Groups, often moulded and shaped by those attending. That means they are open, willing to accept change and embracing of new ones into the groups.

In 2004, the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign focused us on the question, "What on Earth am I here for?", while in 2007 we took another step towards spiritual maturity and deepening our relationship with God and others as we embarked on the 40 Days of Community Campaign, looking at the question, "What on Earth are WE here for?".

Both of these campaigns caused us to look again at God's purposes for our lives and how we can be intentional and effective in Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, and Mission.

Oxford Baptist Church and Small Groups have benefited enormously as a result, and so we invite you to come along and be connected into an active community.

Ephesians 4:15-16
Instead, speaking from the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
